When choosing a hotel for a weekend trip in a big city, few things matter more than location, location, location. Chose the wrong one and you could spend your precious days lost in a public transportation maze in hope to find all the important sights. The Lindner Hotel Am Ku’damm eliminates that problem entirely. Located in central Charlottenburg on the beautiful avenue Kurfürstendamm, close to the Berlin Zoo, this hotel exceeded my expectations and made our weekend a joy.
We arrived early, with the pleasure of an early check in. The staff was kind and helpful with all of our questions. The room felt modern, fresh and was very spacious and bright. The fact that we had a large balcony overseeing the city made it even better.
The breakfast was pleasure with a varied selection. Being a ’real food for breakfast’ kind of girl I especially enjoyed the roasted vegetables and the scrambled eggs with onions and chives.
Outside of the hotel you’ll find the metro station for the central line that will easily bring you to all corners of Berlin, as well as the buss stop for the City Sightseeing. However, we spent two days just exploring the neighborhood that beside beautiful boutiques was filled with restaurants and cafes. And for those looking to do some serious shopping; it’s situated at a close walking distance from the shopping haven KaDaWe, the second largest mall in Europe, beaten only by iconic Harrods in London.
I would say this hotel suits most visitors. Families who want a safe neighborhood with proximity the zoo and parks, friends in town to spend some money as well as people in town for business who want to enjoy the spacious and very silent rooms. It would be hard not to get a good night’s sleep here. I would gladly return to this hotel, anytime.
