From Stockholm to Singapore, here are a few of the most luxurious spa treatments I found around the world. Time to refresh those bucket lists, I believe!
The 'Samezen' at Sturebadet
Sturebadet in Stockholm have now developed a treatment inspired by the Sami; the indigenous people who inhabited the Arctic Circle in the northern parts of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia. The treatment includes a body scrub , a mineral-rich stationary bath and finally a relaxing and soothing massage with warm juniper oil and hot lava stones while listening to soothing yoik music.
Trump Signature Gemstone Spa Treatments
These treatments focus on healing through the use of various gems and oils infused with rare flower and herbal essences. Depending on what you intent with the treatment is, different gems will be used. Diamonds to balance the crown chakra and for providing clarity. Emeralds for the purifying treatment that represent the heart chakra. Rubies for revitalization (root chakra) and lastly sapphires for calm and clarity, said to heal the third eye chakra.
Mandara Signature Massage
Pullman Lijiang Resort and Spa, Yunnan China
The signature treatment at this spa combines different massage styles: Japanese Shiatsu, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Thai, Swedish and Balinese. Also called the "four-hand massage," it involves two therapists working together with blended essential oils of sandalwood, patchouli, and ylang ylang. These ingredients calm the nervous system, warm and relax muscle tissue, and promote the growth of healthy new skin cells, leaving your skin beautifully supple.
Javanese Lulur at Banyan Tree Spa
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
Experience 150 minutes of bliss in this 'queen' of treatments. The Javanese Lulur has been practiced in the palaces of central Java since the 17th century and is used as a purifying ritual for brides before marriage. The imperial top to toe treatment includes a balinese massage, lulur purifier, yoghurt body splash, creamy honey enhancer and a floral bath.
